A Journey to Massapequa Preserve by LIRR

Registration period: February 26th – March 2nd
Focus: The agenda will be a visit to a renown excellent late winter /early spring birding location mere steps from the Massapequa Long Island Railroad Station. Explore the many wooded trails as well as two water bodies fed by a main stream. Ducks, early spring migrants and other woodland denizens are the enjoyable pursuits.
Notes: Bring lunch, plenty of water, and good walking shoes. The walking is flat and casually paced with likely 5 miles total distance. If you want to bring a scope, a light one is best. The early train from Atlantic terminal at this time appears to the 7:22 am train. Instructions will be provided at the end of the registration period.
