Bird Friendly Coffee presented by Lily Mleczko

November 19, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Please join our guest speaker, Lily Mleczko, as she discusses her graduate work surrounding Bird Friendly coffee. Lily will discuss the specifics of what it takes for farmers to get certified as “Bird Friendly,” why the certification is so important to conservation, how it benefits our local bird species and how you can help support the initiative. Lily has studied birds throughout her career. She obtained her undergraduate degree while studying Gunnison sage grouse in Colorado, before returning east to finish her masters in biology from Miami OH focusing on sustainable initiatives that benefit migratory passerines. She also has an advanced graduate certificate in conservation biology from Fordham University where she studied window collisions with NYC Audubon. Lily is now based out of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Queens Zoo. Bird Friendly coffee will brewed for all those who attend!

This meeting will take place inside the Prospect Park Zoo in the C-classroom. Please ensure you are on time, doors open at 6:45pm and you must enter through the service gate on Flatbush Avenue.
