Happy trails at Connetquot River State Park

Focus: A nature walk that looks at breeding birds, butterflies, wildflowers and with phone nature app try to identify unknown species. Habitat is primarily pine barren with lake and creek. Generally a laid back walk.

Notes: This is a Long Island Rail Road trip that stops near the Long Island Greenbelt Trail. Approximately a mile and half from the train station, the group will arrive at Connetquot River SP. Please note there is extensive walking, approximately 8 miles round trip flat walking at a casual pace. Bring lunch and sun protection, good walking shoes.

Current club members will receive priority. Each person must register individually; you may not register additional participants. If you need to cancel please do so at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer someone your spot; no-shows will be moved to the bottom of the list for future trips.
