SUMMARY:Floyd Bennett Field: "Is there a grasspiper in the house?"
DESCRIPTION:Meet 7 am at the Target Store\, 1598 Flatbush Ave (at the Q35 Bus stop on Avenue H) We will try to take the 7:20 am bus. No registration required. \nGoogle maps https://goo.gl/maps/iASNjzz39saXn3WAA \nFor those preferring to come by car\, meet in the Aviator Parking lot around 8 a.m.  https://goo.gl/maps/9AGVbhyAN8XQ2uuD9  No car pools will be organized. \nLeader: Peter Dorosh 347-622-3559 (text only for the early morning of the trip; Inquiries or questions prior trip date please email Prosbird@gmail.com) \nFocus: The agenda will be a walking tour throughout Floyd Bennett Field in search of a species known as “grasspipers”\, or shorebirds that prefer drier non-marsh habitat. These rare shorebirds prefer places like runways. We will be looking for other migrating species as well in this fun endeavor. \nNotes: Bring lunch\, plenty of water\, insect repellent\, and good walking shoes. The walking is flat and casually paced with likely 5 miles total distance. If you want to bring a scope\, a light one is best. We expect a walk ending at 2:30 pm. There are restrooms available. \n
