SUMMARY:PRESENTATION: Birds Observed at Naval Cemetery Landscape
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: Registration for this special event is via Eventbrite\, see the link below. \nLeader: Eric Thompson\, gardener and naturalist (BGI) \nFocus: Explore this native pollinator meadow and memorial landscape. This presentation will focus primarily on migrating birds and the insects that make the Naval Cemetery Landscape their home or stopping ground. The NCL is fully operated and made open as a public space by Brooklyn Greenway Initiative (BGI) through the generosity of our supporters. Attend this presentation ahead of the Brooklyn Bird Club walk at the NCL on Saturday\, May 25 or stop by on your own another time after this introduction to the NCL’s native pollinator habitat and contemplative memorial urban meadow. \nThe Director of Horticulture will also be there to speak about the plants and horticulture techniques that support these species so you can learn about the NCL and the Greenway and what goes into maintaining their beauty and accessibility for every visitor\, especially the many species of birds for which we intentionally cultivate habitat and resources! \nNCL is managed by the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative who will give a BBC partner led walk the following weekend on site. \nLOCATION: Powerhouse Arts\, 322 Third Ave\, Brooklyn\, NY 11215 \nTO REGISTER VIA EVENTBRITE CLICK HERE \n
