SUMMARY:Overnight Trip: The Quest for the "Golden Swamp" Warbler in the Wilds of Central New Jersey
DESCRIPTION:Golden Bird #5 in a celebratory year \nLeader: Peter Dorosh \nParticipant limit: 12 \nDescription: To celebrate the leader’s 50th anniversary of birding\, we’ll explore habitats commonly visited by the Prothonotary Warbler. As Roger Tory Peterson aptly describes it\, this “golden bird of dank swamps” will guide us through the joy of observing spring breeding birds in their stunning natural surroundings. Our journey will take us to iconic locations such as Michael Huber Prairie Woods Preserve\, Forsythe-Brigantine NWR\, Atlantic County Park\, Tuckahoe WMA\, Franklin-Parker Preserve\, and Brightview Farm\, where we can truly immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature. \nRegistrar: Peter Dorosh\, email Prosbird@gmail.com and Prosbird@aol.com \nRegistration Period: April 1st- May 20th \nCarpool fee: $75. Drivers and members get priority. \nNote: This trip starts Sunday\, returning Tuesday. Registrants however could bird two days\, returning Monday afternoon on Memorial Day. \nRelative difficulty: Generally flat but long walks; birding full days. Most walking is upon dry surfaces during likely very warm weather. \n
