SUMMARY:"Shall You Dance?" American Woodcock Courtship at Marine Park Salt Marsh
DESCRIPTION:Meet 4:45 pm in front of Salt Marsh Nature Center (please register for weather updates.) \nLeader: Peter Dorosh \nRegistrar: Peter Dorosh\, prosbird@gmail.com \nFocus: After birding at Marine Park and its estuary\, we’ll head toward the nature center in hopes of witnessing the American Woodcock’s aerial display and courtship. While sightings aren’t guaranteed\, we’re hopeful to experience one of spring’s most remarkable events: searching the sky for the calls and explosive courtship of this iconic species. Calm\, windless evenings offer the best viewing conditions. The sun sets at 7:02 pm\, and the walk will conclude shortly after. \nNote:  The B3 bus stops directly across the street from the nature center. The B3 also connects to subway lines to the west and additional bus routes at Kings Plaza\, just a few blocks east along Avenue U. Please note that inclement weather may result in a rescheduled walk. \n
