An Autumn Birding Day at Floyd Bennett Field

Focus: This trip focuses on late fall migrants, particularly sparrows  (Emberizidae genus), plus raptors in peak, late shorebirds, as well as early winter species, namely arriving water fowl. There will be action with grassland species and hopefully a vagrant species.

Car Pool Fee: $10

Notes: Drivers and members get priority. Bring lunch, water, sunhat, and good walking shoes. The walking is flat and casually paced with likely 3 miles total distance. If you want to bring a scope, a light one is best. We expect a walk ending in mid-afternoon.. There are restrooms available.
