Leader: Peter Dorosh
Focus/itinerary: This long, casual walk from Bay Ridge’s Veterans Pier to Caesars Bay Mall will focus on enjoying waterfowl, sea ducks, and gulls, with the possibility of seeing Purple Sandpipers. We’ll travel along Lower New York Bay to Gravesend Bay, celebrating the new year, friendship, life, and birds.
For lunch, we’ll likely stop at a diner or other eatery at Caesars Bay Mall. If people are willing, we can also stop at BJ’s Park, a few blocks farther down.
The day will end with a bus to either the Bay Parkway D station or the Coney Island–Stillwell Avenue subway terminal. The leader can make suggestions about transportation and other options along the way.
