Autumn’s Birding Allure at Floyd Bennett Field

Participant limit: 16; drivers and members get priority.

Focus: This trip focuses on late fall migrants, particularly sparrows  (Emberizidae genus), plus raptors in peak, as well as early winter species, namely arriving water fowl and perhaps late shorebirds. There will be concentration on grassland species and possibly a vagrant species.

Car Pool Fee: $10

Notes: Bring lunch, water, sunhat, and good walking shoes. The walking is flat and casually paced with likely 5 miles total distance. If you want to bring a scope, a light one is best. We expect a walk ending in mid-afternoon.. There are restrooms available.
