Trip synopsis: Our visit will focus on a renowned park that is facing a development threat: a sizable peninsula named Craven Point is under threat for a proposed three-hole golf course by an overzealous billionaire. “Friends of Liberty State Park” is spearheading the fight, along with their supporters and elected representatives to prevent this habitat loss. 1200 acre Liberty State Park with dramatic views of the Manhattan Skyline sits in the shadow of the famous Statue of Liberty, an oasis on the west shores of New York Bay. The park boasts an impressive bird list throughout the seasons: https://ebird.org/hotspot/L189035
