Overnight Trip: The Quest for the “Golden Swamp” Warbler in the Wilds of Central New Jersey
May 25 - May 27
Golden Bird #5 in a celebratory year
Leader: Peter Dorosh
Participant limit: 12
Description: To celebrate the leader’s 50th anniversary of birding, we’ll explore habitats commonly visited by the Prothonotary Warbler. As Roger Tory Peterson aptly describes it, this “golden bird of dank swamps” will guide us through the joy of observing spring breeding birds in their stunning natural surroundings. Our journey will take us to iconic locations such as Michael Huber Prairie Woods Preserve, Forsythe-Brigantine NWR, Atlantic County Park, Tuckahoe WMA, Franklin-Parker Preserve, and Brightview Farm, where we can truly immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature.
