Washington Square Park Eco Projects with Georgia Silvera Seamans

Georgia Silvera Seamans is an urban forester, and the co-founding director of Washington Square Park Eco Projects. Georgia is also an independent researcher and freelance writer. She has bylines with UrbanOmnibus.netAudubon.com, and Audubon Magazine, and her research has been published in Urban Forestry & Urban Greening and the Journal of Arboriculture. She’s an alumna of Wesleyan University, the Yale School of the Environment, and UC Berkeley.

Georgia will present the changing ecology of 9.75 acres of unceded Lenape land now known as Washington Square Park. She will discuss two current projects in the park: the Observing Wildlife Longitudinally aka the bird survey and the WSP Phenology Project.
