Winged beauties: Butterflies and dragons of Floyd Bennett Field

Focus: Late June is peak for the beauties of the insect world: butterflies, moths and dragonflies. Join local naturalist, BBC President emeritus, and long time member of the BBC Paul Keim on a pre-summer saunter through the fields and brushland of Floyd Bennett, a premier location for insects.
No registration required. Meet 9 am at the south entrance parking lot.

Notes: For public transportation, the Q35 bus stops across from Floyd Bennett’s south entrance just before the Marine Park Bridge; the bus is picked up in front of Target Department store at Flatbush Ave, and/or Ave H. https://tinyurl.com/2xzj3rkf. While on the bus, ring the bell after you pass the iconic Ryan Visitors Center ( formerly an airport control tower) with the Marine Park bridge coming in view ahead. Walk east across the street towards the entrance for the parking lot on the right just after the Checkpoint booth.
Bring water and insect repellent. There are restrooms available.
